Our Story

Dance Central was established in 2019.

Originally a Classical Ballet Academy, Dance Central was born from Director, Sharon Tite's love, passion and dedication to classical ballet and dance.

With 20 years of international experience, Sharon’s tuition soon attracted a large junior dance programme. Later the studio broadened to offer interdisciplinary styles teaching commercial dance styles that are loved today.

Here are the teachers who lead our classes today

Director

Sharon Tite

Sharon graduated from the National Ballet School under the guidance of Ann Judson. She went on to enjoy a diverse career with International ballet companies in China and America.

Sharon taught many ballet students at Southern Ballet before establishing Dance Central Studios. Today she continues to lead the advancement of classical ballet as a guest tutor at St. Andrews Ballet Academy, Convergence Dance School and teacher at the Theatre Dance Academy at St Margaret's College.

Studio Support + Teacher

Lucy Coutts

Lucy is an experienced dancer in classical and modern styles. Her teaching highlights include student success at regional, national and Australasian competition circuits.

She believes everyone should enjoy dance regardless of age, gender, body type, or experience.

Lucy also works for a leading national media company - this accumen supports our studio with strategy, marketing and communications.

Chloe Parker

Chloe has danced since 3 years old and has achieved highly in many exams. She has competed extensively across Australasia and America as a competitive dancer and former rhythmic gymnast.

Chloe continues teaching studies whilst continuing her dance training locally.

Alina von Hahn

Born and raised in Vancouver, Canada, Alina has trained in many dance styles including ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, acro and pointe.

In 2024, Alina started a new chapter relocating to New Zealand. We welcome her to Dance Central Studios.
